Please light a candle and pray for peace

Response from the London Methodist District Chairs to Parsons Green

As Londoners travelled to work this morning, we again became the target of those who would cause us harm. We have seen once more the courage and care of emergency services and of Transport for London staff. Parsons Green is a station on the District Line along which many thousands of commuters travel every day, not a particularly well known station and yet now it joins the litany of places notorious because of events that have taken place there. Please pray for those who have been injured and traumatised by the incident this morning and pray for peace in our world.

Loving God

You are with us in the ordinary moments of life, on those days we take for granted and you are with us in the extra-ordinary moments, when life becomes more precious. We pray for your presence in the lives of those who have been injured and traumatised in the attack on the tube train at Parson’s Green.

We give thanks for all the emergency services and the staff of Transport for London, for their courage and their service to others.

We pray for peace in our homes, on our streets and in our world.

In the name of the Prince of Peace.

All Done!

It's been all go during August but the gent's and all-access toilets have now been refurbished to the same standard as the ladies. The Hall has been completely redecorated by a bunch of willing volunteers. A big thank you to all those willing hands who scraped, sanded, painted, braved the high scaffold towers and cleaned and in particularly to those who organised the whole enterprise. A great team effort!
